Breast Enlargement

Full, shapely breasts can make a woman feel more feminine and look more curvaceous. Breast enlargement with implants, also called breast augmentation, is a cosmetic procedure designed to increase the size of a woman’s breasts. The results of breast augmentation can improve the balance, proportion, and overall contours of a woman’s body, giving her a shapelier figure.

The Breast Enlargement Procedure – Placement of the Breast Implants

During your consultation, Dr. Barttelbort will explain which method of implant placement will be best for achieving your cosmetic goals during your consultation at our office. Dr. Barttelbort always strives for natural-looking, symmetrical breast enlargement results when completing breast augmentation with implants. Post-operatively, patients experience minimal scarring and are generally very pleased with their enhanced bust line. Breast Lift

Pregnancy, nursing, excessive weight loss or gain, and the natural aging process can cause breasts to lose their natural elasticity. Over time, breasts may begin to sag and lose shape due to diminished volume. Our practice offers breast lift procedures, which can give you a more youthful figure by correcting a drooping bust line and restoring your natural breast shape.

The Breast Lift Procedure

Dr. Barttelbort offers three different breast lift techniques to provide his patients with the best possible option for accomplishing a natural-looking lift: the vertical breast lift technique, the peri-areolar breast lift technique, and traditional breast lift. During your pre-surgery cosmetic consultation, Dr. Barttelbort will fully discuss the procedures he offers and will help you decide which breast lift procedure will best suit your needs.

During the breast lift procedure, excess skin and tissue are trimmed away and tightened to symmetrically reshape the breasts and lift them to a more youthful position. After lifting the breasts, the nipples are repositioned to ensure natural-looking results. For many of our patients, breast lift is enhanced with implants to increase breast volume.

Breast Reduction

Chronic neck and back pain, bra strap indentations on the shoulders, and general discomfort are all unfortunate realities for many women with large, heavy breasts. In addition to physical discomfort, oversized breasts can also make a woman feel self-conscious. To help these women, Dr. Barttelbort can reduce and reshape the breasts to a smaller, lighter, and more-proportionate size through breast reduction surgery.

The Breast Reduction Procedure

For most patients undergoing a breast reduction, Dr. Barttelbort is able to employ a short-scar technique (this is a significant improvement from the traditional “anchor” incision reduction technique). The short scar operation consists of a circumferential scar around the areola which then continues vertically down to the infammary crease. Next, excess fat, glandular tissue, and skin are removed, and the remaining skin is tightened around the newly-contoured breast. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Although there will likely be swelling, temporary bruising, and some pain after surgery, these side effects diminish as the breasts heal. More information on this procedure can be found by clicking here.

Breast Reconstruction

Removal of a breast or a significant amount of breast tissue due to cancer can be a traumatic and life-altering event for a woman. Many women feel self-conscious about the appearance of their breasts following full or partial mastectomy. Through breast reconstruction offered at our practice, women can have the natural curves of their breast restored, enhancing their appearance and quality of life after breast cancer treatment.

The Breast Reconstruction Procedure

Using either breast implants or the patient’s own tissue, breast reconstruction is usually performed in stages, often over a period of many months. Generally breast reconstruction is performed at the time of the mastectomy, and the first procedure is usually the longest and most complex. Subsequent surgeries usually take less time to complete, and involve less recovery time. In most cases, Dr. Barttelbort will work in conjunction with your oncologist and your general surgeon to create the most effective surgical plan for you.

Contact our office today for more information about breast reconstruction. We will be happy to help you schedule your initial consultation, during which Dr. Barttelbort will assess your individual case and develop a treatment plan that best meets your needs.
